Life on the Farm ...
Hey,
My name is Beth Griggs. I own and enjoy raising Devon Rex cats. I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. When I was ten years old, I got my first horse for Christmas. I have had quite a few dogs in my life, along with every kind of farm animal you can name. Thank goodness my husband has supported me with raising our family on a farm, and trying my hand at many hobbies. For ten years, I was know as the sheep lady in my area. I raised and sold wool sheep for children in FFA, 4-H and for spinners. Yes, I also sold some for meat. It was a lot of work, but it was very rewarding. I loved every minute of it. There is nothing like newborn lambs. As I have gotten older, the work in the field has gotten harder for me to keep up with. So, I sold my last five sheep in April, 2005. Which brings me to the present...
Abbey Road, was my very first Devon. Chocolate and white and my sweetheart. Did I mention I am allergic to cats? That's one of the reasons that I am not a cat person, but Devons are not like other cats and I'm not allergic to them. Now, I have Ms. Brown, Tallulah. Vanna, Julia, Rosa and Cato. These guys share our home with my husband and myself. Recently, we built a cottage with an outdoor enclosure attached so Cato can be the king of his own castle (if you know what I mean). He can even leave the toilet seat up, and no one will complain. The females visit the kitty cottage for breeding. So, that's how BattyKatz started, and there's no turning back...
I'm still not a cat person. I'm a Devon Rex's person. Read more about the breed on my /about-the-devon-rex.html page.
